Ayurvedic Medicine taught in India includes a full-time course of 5 years. It is obvious that our training - yet intensively - part-time over four years, is more limited. It is important to note, in order to clearly understand what it means to become Ayurvedic practitioner in this course in 4 years.

AAS does not currently training to become a doctor. Ayurvedic practitioner is a profession focused on the application of Ayurveda to nutrition, lifestyle, use of plants (herbs), holistic treatments, Ayurvedic massage, yoga (therapy), counseling therapy, meditation, personal development and spirituality. All these aspects must be understood and applied in the modern West, while firmly based on universal principles of Ayurveda and traditional classic.

AAS offers a professional course of 4 years and a diploma course in Ayurvedic nutrition, seminars and workshops independent of Ayurveda. The 4-year career includes about 1000 hours (250 hours per year of study). AAS programs are based on quoted Dr. Vsant LAD and Vaidya Atreya Smith, taught by experienced European and Indian professors.

A program of one or two months of intensive field studies as part of clinical training will be available in India at the end of which an Indian university degree will be awarded to qualified students. The topics and Ayuryoga Ayursanskrit integral part of the program and will also be part of the teaching of weekends of study. Classes are held in Amsterdam at the moment.
